Pete Vigour
Fiddle, Banjo, Guitar
Pete has enjoyed playing and teaching old-time music since his childhood in Virginia’s Shenandoah Valley. His old-time string band, Uncle Henry’s Favorites, has had the same personnel, including his wife, mandolinist Ellen Vigour, since being formed in 1985. Performing professionally with many varied bands has brought Pete a lifetime of experience in arranging and presenting traditional string band music. He teaches fiddle, banjo, guitar, and old-time repertoire at the Front Porch Music School in Charlottesville, Virginia. Pete regularly performs and teaches at summer music camps and festivals. He spends much of his free time jamming with his friends around his home in western Albemarle County, and enjoys hiking and camping whenever possible
